Minecraft is particularly good for kids on the spectrum who may be inflexible or anxious about new situations and breaking routine. Because the repercussions of trying something new are not real, many kids are far more willing to experiment, expand their range of interests, and engage in friendship-making skills while playing Minecraft.
Many of our students have a combination of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and/or Genetic Disorders. We help children learn literacy skills and social skills through video games and Coding. We use scientifically supported neuro-plasticity and the Orton-Gilligham multi-sensory approach for reading, writing and penmanship. We believe if your child can speak they can read!
We use a modified version of Minecraft to teach math and coding skills. Using the game blocks as hands-on manipulatives, we can construct math problems for any grade level, helping to understand the application of mathematics in the real as well as virtual worlds.
